Katya Sverdlov, Esq., CFA® serves as Of Counsel to the Law Firm of Daniel J. Reiter, Esq., where she focuses on estate planning, Medicaid planning, elder law, and business succession matters.
Prior to law school, Ms. Sverdlov, a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®), spent twelve years working for several top Wall Street financial companies. Her experience includes senior positions in investment banking and securities industries.
Ms. Sverdlov holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Economics from Cornell University. She earned her Juris Doctor from the Brooklyn Law School, graduating Magna Cum Laude. She is admitted to practice in the State of New York. Ms. Sverdlov is a member of the New York State Bar Association, New York City Bar Association, Brooklyn Bar Association, Trusts and Estates Law Section of New York State Bar Association, and the Elder Law Section of New York State Bar Association.
Ms. Sverdlov teaches Estate Planning 101 at the Brooklyn Lifelong Institute at Brooklyn College. She is a frequent lecturer about issues related to Asset Protection, Estate Planning, Medicaid Planning, Tax Planning, and other questions related to her areas of practice. She gives regular presentations to senior citizens through the Brooklyn Bar Leap organization and was a volunteer in the Kings County Housing Court. Ms. Sverdlov is also a prolific writer of blog posts that keep both professionals and consumers abreast of changes in the law and interesting new ideas.
