Katya Sverdlov interviewed by The Serene Home

Katya Sverdlov, Esq., CFA® recently spoke with The Serene Home about estate planning, and getting your “financial house in order as well as your closets!”

According to Katya, the biggest estate planning mistake “is ignoring the issue of incapacity and death, thinking that it won’t happen to you, and not creating any documents.” If you don’t engage in this type of planning, Katya explains, the state will decide what happens to you and your assets.

Katya also discusses the “shockingly high amount” of the cost of long-term care. Katya explains that  “it comes as a shock to people, but Medicare does not pay for either home care or nursing home care.”

Katya  serves as Of Counsel to the Law Firm of Daniel J. Reiter, Esq., where she focuses on estate planning, Medicaid planning, elder law, and business succession matters.
